<summary type="text">Personal Identity and Science; Identidad personal y ciencia
The philosophical problem of personal identity –the issue of finding the necessary and sufficient conditions for a past or future being to be a certain present being– has been treated by analytical metaphysics mostly. In this framework, plenty of references to thought experiments can be found, but they exhibit no connection to practical problems and scientific outcomes. Our purpose is to involve philosophy of science in that debate, since a genetic approach regarding identity can be considered supported by contemporary scientific knowledge. In order to do that, we will focus on the Argentinian case of the approximately 500 children who were appropriated during the most recent dictatorship (1976-1983). The appropriations deprived them, precisely, of their identities, but some of them managed to be recovered thanks to Abuelas de Plaza de Mayo (apm) and genetics. Our final purpose is to argue that a pluralistic perspective in philosophy of science, according to which values contribute to the very constitution of ontology science aims to describe and explain, will allow us to defend apm strategy but reject, at the same time, a reductive conception of identity.

<summary type="text">Capacities, Causality and Modality; Capacidades, causalidad y modalidad
This article proposes a naturalized conception of capacities, causality and modality. Particularly, I defend that capacities are modal causal properties that confers to phenomena a range of possible behaviours. Thus, these physical properties are responsible as much of causality as of physical modality. Also, I argue that capacities can be individuated, ascribed, measured and manipulated by means of different empirical approaches. After of addressing general epistemic considerations, the second section sets an ontology for capacities. The third section establishes the relations between probabilistic causation and capacities. The fourth section advances in the articulation of an experimentalist approach to capacities.; El presente artículo propone una concepción naturalizada de las capacidades, la causalidad y la modalidad.

<summary type="text">Corruption and social norms; Corrupción y normas sociales
The argument of this article has three parts: first, we argue that the theory of social norms is relevant to the study of corruption. This is so because corruption is a phenomenon that occurs in a specific context, within a given regulatory system, which allows certain interactions to be defined as “corrupt”. Second, we show that Coleman’s theory of social norms suffers from a theoretical deficit, since it does not admit certain subtleties in the explanation of the macro-to-micro transition (that is, how macrosocial phenomena influence individuals). Based on Coleman’s scheme of levels of social interaction, we point out an asymmetry not theorized by Coleman between the mechanisms of the micro-to-macro passage, which generate a macro level that is objective or, at least, common to many, and the macro-to-micro mechanisms, which start from a macro level that is not necessarily perceived in the same way by individuals, but is mediated by their beliefs about society; and this is more noticeable when it comes to a phenomenon such as corruption, in which there are strong incentives for secrecy, so it is not possible to affirm that the social level is objective (in terms of its perception by individuals) or common to many. There are, as we will see, mechanisms that intervene in the explanation of corruption that are related to the influence of social norms. Third, we will exemplify the macro-to-micro transition through the notion of normative expectations, and study the mechanisms that make it easier for individuals to perceive corrupt behavior as legitimate.

The ideas developed in Ancient Greece are a sea of contrasts. While many of them eventually led to the development of science and philosophy, some others were true epistemological obstacles that delayed and hindered their development. The main objective of this text is to make a critical journey through some of the most relevant texts of Aristotle's biological work searching for proto-ideas on thermodynamics and evolution. In particular, a review of the tractates: On the parts of the animals and On the locomotion of the animals will be made.; Las ideas gestadas en la Antigua Grecia son un mar de contrastes.
