<title>Adsorption of sulfides present in aqueous solution on activated carbon obtained from corn cob</title>
<link>http://test.repositoriodigital.com:8080/handle/123456789/36223</link>
<description>Adsorption of sulfides present in aqueous solution on activated carbon obtained from corn cob; Adsorción de sulfuros presentes en solución acuosa sobre carbón activado obtenido a partir de zuro de maíz
In Bogotá, Colombia, there are more than 200 tanneries that include the use of sodium sulfide, considered to be a water pollutant, caused by the wastewater. In this work, the adsorption capacity of sulfides on activated carbon obtained from corn cob was analyzed, in order to determine the possible application of this agricultural waste material for the control of water pollution. The activated carbon was obtained thermally in a percentage of 5.5% by mass and for the adsorption study the effect of the initial pH of the aqueous solution, the initial concentration of the sulfur and the contact time on the percentage of reduction of sulfur in water were analyzed. A maximum sulfide retention capacity of 22.2 mg / g, and a maximum sulfide concentration reduction of 98.96% were presented for an initial concentration of 100 mg / L of sulfide in solution. The experimental equilibrium of the process was represented by the Langmuir isotherm model and the kinetic trend of the operation by the pseudo second order model.

<title>Residual biomass in greenhouse heating system in Cundinamarca</title>
<link>http://test.repositoriodigital.com:8080/handle/123456789/36218</link>
<description>Residual biomass in greenhouse heating system in Cundinamarca; Biomasa residual en sistema de calefacción de invernadero en Cundinamarca
Plant residues generated in companies dedicated to floriculture are often an environmental problem, since they are vectors for the spread of pests and diseases, and even aesthetic problems, and are not generally used for energy use. From there, a study of energy use of residual biomass is carried out, taking into account the data of a floriculture company in Sesquilé (Cundinamarca, Colombia). The vegetable biomass produced is characterized and quantified and a biodigestion system is designed to replace the fuel currently used (propane) for heating greenhouses during the frost season (20 days); A production of 3,836 Nm³ of biogas is estimated, in a time of 57 days. This proposal is a good alternative for the company, since the investment of the entire system is recovered in a period of 2.6 years.; Los residuos vegetales generados en empresas dedicadas a la floricultura son una problemática ambiental, ya que son vectores de propagación de plagas y enfermedades, e incluso problemas de estética, y no son generalmente utilizados para aprovechamiento energético.
