dc.description | The discussion and distinction between the categories sex and gender in medical research has been consolidated as a significant contribution from feminist theories and the philosophy of science. However, the distinction between the categories of sex and gender, in the structuring of medical knowledge, was not identified until the 1970s. Despite this finding, the design of medical research that does not contemplate such concepts continues to be prevalent differences, so that an indistinct use is made between both categories and a knowledge is generated from this categorical error. Several researchers in the area of health and philosophy of sciences have developed frameworks for the identification of such errors, as well as their consequences in public health policies, especially in diseases such as acute myocardial infarction. Therefore, from an intersectional analysis between the health sciences and the philosophy of science, some reflections on this problem will be presented in this text. | en-US |
