This article proposes a naturalized conception of capacities, causality and modality. Particularly, I defend that capacities are modal causal properties that confers to phenomena a range of possible behaviours. Thus, these physical properties are responsible as much of causality as of physical modality. Also, I argue that capacities can be individuated, ascribed, measured and manipulated by means of different empirical approaches. After of addressing general epistemic considerations, the second section sets an ontology for capacities. The third section establishes the relations between probabilistic causation and capacities. The fourth section advances in the articulation of an experimentalist approach to capacities.en-US
