dc.description | This paper describes the development of a video game that serves as a tool to learn about lighting design methodologies. The video game was designed in Unity and has five levels. The first three of them are about indoor lighting design; the fourth, about sports lighting; and the final level, about emergency lighting. To pass each level, the designs players create must meet the Colombian lighting code (RETILAP in Spanish). This study shows that not observing the RETILAP has serious visual health consequences and facilitates a poor job performance of employees at companies. Furthermore, the video game enables lighting professionals to learn about and apply the current national lighting code and current design methodologies in an easy and didactic way, thus minimizing incorrect lighting designs and mitigating their consequences. | en-US |
