dc.description	The work of Jorge Luis Borges is considered to be one of the influences that started postmodern literature in Spanish. In addition to the metafictional techniques and the use of irony, his tales contain features that came ahead of the time when many of these theories were developed. In the case of The Library of Babel, the story exposes a model of reality paralleled to the ones created by structuralists such as Saussure and Lévi-Strauss, and poststructuralists such as Derrida and Barthes. This library-universe functions as a whole system where everything is connected and linked through hexagon-galleries, establishing relations that go hand in hand with the structuralism proposals. Despite this apparent order and harmony, this place suffers from the defect of its immeasurable size, which leads to consequences that can be related to the poststructuralist critique towards the former movement.	en-US
dc.description	La obra de Jorge Luis Borges es considerada uno de los alicientes que abrió paso a la literatura posmoderna en lengua española. Además del uso de la metaficción y la ironía, sus relatos contienen características que se adelantaron a los argumentos que fueron propuestos por estas teorías tiempo después. En el caso de La biblioteca de Babel, la historia expone un modelo de realidad análogo a los creados por los estructuralistas Saussure y Lévi-Strauss, y los postestructuralistas Derrida y Barthes. Esta biblioteca-universo funciona como un gran sistema en el que todo está conectado a través de galerías hexagonales, formando una red de relaciones que van de la mano con la propuesta estructuralista. A pesar de su orden y armonía aparentes, este lugar posee el defecto de ser inmensurable, lo que provoca unas consecuencias que pueden ser relacionadas con la crítica postestructuralista a su teoría predecesora.	es-ES
