According to international project management standards, one of the key aspects is cost control, which uses methods and models to estimate, budget and control costs so that the project is completed within the approved budget. The present document seeks to demonstrate the need to apply cost control theory in the implementation of telecommunications infrastructure and service for the transmission of data in the operation of technological platforms for intelligent cities. Finally, the document makes an approximation to the theory of Costs indicating the contributions that can be made from the same to identify the variables and aspects to be covered at cost level in this type of projects.
