dc.descriptionForest fires are a problem that arises in different places of the world, either for anthropogenic or natural causes bringing adverse effects on the environment like changes in the land cover. The aim of this research was to analyse land cover change through Normalized Difference Vegetation Index and Land Surface Temperature during forest fires. Using and processing satellite images Landsat 5,7, 8 the NDVI and LST at the Cerros Orientales of Bogotá city were established. The results showed that land quality cover changes in Cerros Orientales, due to the wildfires, changing the NDVI and LST at a study area; also there is evidence that the most susceptible areas are Usaquén, Chapinero and Santa Fe, because the land cover quality is moderate and scarce. The NDVI and LST are useful indicators that show the impact of photosynthetic activity of vegetation, after forest fires.en-US
dc.descriptionLos incendios forestales son una problemática que se presenta en diversos lugares del mundo, ya sea por causas antropogénicas o naturales, y ello trae efectos adversos en el ambiente, entre ellos cambios en la cobertura vegetal. La investigación tuvo como objetivo analizar el cambio de la cobertura vegetal a través del Índice de Vegetación de Diferencia Normalizada (NDVI) y la Temperatura Superficial de la Tierra (LST) durante los incendios forestales. Mediante el uso de imágenes satélites Landsat 5, 7, 8 y su procesamiento, se estableció el NDVI y la LST en los Cerros Orientales de la ciudad de Bogotá. Los resultados encontrados muestran que la calidad de la cobertura vegetal en los Cerros Orientales varía, debido a la presencia de incendios forestales, que alteran el NDVI y el LST en la zona de estudio; a su vez, se evidencia que las localidades más susceptibles frente a estos eventos son Usaquén, Chapinero y Santa Fe, dado que la calidad de vegetación es moderada y escasa. El NDVI y la LST son indicadores útiles que evidencian el impacto en la actividad fotosintética de la vegetación, tras el acontecimiento de un incendio forestal.es-ES
