| dc.description | Objective: To characterize the nephropathy induced by contrast media in patients hospitalized in the general clinic of the north of Barranquilla, during the period from January to June 2017. Method: This research is framed in the paradigm of quantitative research. Investigation of quantitative, descriptive, cross - sectional type, with retrospective data collection of contrast - induced nephropathy in patients hospitalized in the general clinic of northern Barranquilla, during the period from January to June 2017. Results: Acute kidney injury induced by contrasts (LRA - IC) or contrast - induced nephropathy (CIN), has an epidemiological tendency to decrease in the last decade, evidencing an incidence that has decreased from 15% to 7% (3); which is consistent with the percentage of patients presenting CIN in the sample studied. It was found that of 100% of the study sample (534), only 2.8% of the patients presented CIN. This allows us to suggest that the realization of studies and procedures that require means of contrasts is beneficial for the patient and can generate a safe diagnostic and / or therapeutic practice. Conclusion: it is suggested that the age groups with higher risk of developing CIN are those of advanced age, consistent with the current literature. Regarding sex, a higher risk of developing CIN in the female gender could be suggested. | en-US |
| dc.description | Objetivo: Caracterizar la nefropatía inducida por medios de contraste en pacientes hospitalizados en la clínica general del norte de Barranquilla, durante el periodo de Enero a Junio de 2017. Método: Esta investigación está enmarcada en el paradigma de investigación cuantitativa. Investigación de tipo cuantitativo, descriptivo, transversal, con recolección de datos retrospectiva de la nefropatía inducida por medios de contraste en pacientes hospitalizados en la clínica general del norte de barranquilla, durante el periodo de Enero a Junio de 2017. Resultados: La lesión renal aguda inducida por medio de contrastes (LRA-IC) o Nefropatía inducida por contraste (NIC), presenta una tendencia epidemiológica al descenso en la última década, evidenciando una incidencia que ha disminuido desde un 15% a un 7% (3); lo que es congruente con el porcentaje de pacientes que presento NIC en la muestra estudiada. Se encontró que del 100% de la muestra del estudio (534), solo el 2,8% de los pacientes presentó NIC. Lo anterior permite sugerir que la realización de estudios y procedimientos que requieren medios de contrastes es beneficiosa para el paciente y puede generar una práctica diagnostica y/o terapéutica segura. Conclusión: se sugiere que los grupos etarios con mayor riesgo de desarrollar NIC son los de edad avanzada, congruente con la literatura actual. En cuanto al sexo se podría sugerir un mayor riesgo de desarrollar NIC en el género femenino. | es-ES |
