dc.description	Humanities science work with the human being in a social context where He questions himself (Anthropology) and question others (Sociology). In this sense, its mission in the University context is to complement both family´s and education work to build stronger knowledge about the human being and the world around. In other words, Humanities must foster the individual´s own and others interpretation capacity to enrich his/ her scientific and subject matter oriented formation. As apposite, this is to say, a bet for a “Humankind without Humanities” (Savater) which in turn means the failure of efforts to really understand the sense and value of what makes us human beings. At the University settings, the teaching and learning of humanities sciences is framed in the field of Human sciences but presently it is paid more attention to the development of the know – to Learn and the Know- to Do than the Know – to be and the Know – to Live. The latter competences have been moved to the second place in importance as if they were not fundamental aspects for the human being whole development. From these real aspects, this article deals what it might be considered as the “Humanities wreck” in an age full of the technological miracles and scientific discoveries.	en-US
dc.description	Las Humanidades se ocupan del ser humano inmerso en un entorno social que le exige preguntarse por sí mismo (Antropología) y por los demás (Sociología). En este sentido, su misión en el contexto universitario es complementar la labor de la familia y la academia en cuanto tiene que ver con la construcción de un mejor conocimiento sobre el ser humano y el mundo que le rodea. En otros términos, las Humanidades deben propiciar en el sujeto el desarrollo de la capacidad hermenéutica de sí mismo y de los demás, como una forma de enriquecer su formación científica o disciplinar. Lo contrario, es decir, la apuesta por una “humanidad sin humanidades” (Savater), supondría el fracaso de los esfuerzos por comprender realmente el sentido y el valor de lo que nos hace humanos. En la Universidad la enseñanza y el aprendizaje de las Humanidades se enmarcan en el campo de las Ciencias Humanas. Sin embargo, actualmente se presta tanta atención y se invierten tantos esfuerzos en el desarrollo de competencias ligadas al saber-aprender y el saber-hacer, que el saber-ser y el saber-convivir han terminado en un segundo plano, como si no fueran aspectos fundamentales para el desarrollo de seres integrales. Es a partir de esta realidad, que el presente artículo aborda lo que podría considerarse como el “naufragio de las humanidades” en una época obnubilada por los milagros de la tecnología y los avances científicos.	es-ES
