dc.descriptionThis article seeks to provide a reflection based on philosophy and sociology around the occupation, if any, of the humanities. According to the hermeneutics of founding texts on the question “What is man?” and on various perspectives on it, a reflection is configured that aims to sustain what, in the author's view, corresponds to be the basic and determining occupation of the humanities. For this, five sections will be developed in which an introduction to some basic ideas about the humanities, foundations of a philosophical anthropology, what is man from the study of sociology, what is man from the study of biology and neurosciences, and the humanities as a whole are exposed. The article aims to contribute to the understanding that cultivating the humanities and developing them requires an intention to make them a conceptual and unfinished representation of the world, not a piece of ductile clay in the image and likeness of those who see in them the stage of praxis by excellence. It is mainly concluded that the relevance, the very nature of the humanities, lies in broadening the spectrum of questions about what is man, before attempting to provide complete answers, so that, at the very moment in which the crucial question “What is man?” is found a finished answer and it becomes law, not only is a resolved question left, but also a meaningless life.en-US
dc.descriptionEn este artículo, se busca aportar una reflexión fundamentada en la filosofía y la sociología en torno a la ocupación, si le corresponde alguna, de las humanidades. Según la hermenéutica de textos fundantes sobre la pregunta qué es el hombre y sobre diversas perspectivas sobre ello, se configura una reflexión que apunta a sostener la que, al modo de ver del autor, corresponde ser la ocupación básica y determinante de las humanidades. Para ello, se desarrollarán cinco apartados en los que se expongan introducción a algunas ideas básicas sobre las humanidades, fundamentos de una antropología filosófica, qué es el hombre desde el estudio de la sociología, qué es el hombre desde el estudio de la biología y las neurociencias, y las humanidades como totalidad. El artículo pretende aportar a la comprensión respecto de que cultivar las humanidades y desarrollarlas exige una intención de hacer de estas una representación conceptual e inacabada del mundo, no un trozo de arcilla dúctil a imagen y semejanza por quienes ven en ellas el escenario de la praxis por excelencia. Se concluye principalmente que la relevancia, la propia naturaleza de las humanidades, yace en ampliar el espectro de preguntas en torno a qué es el hombre, antes de pretender aportar respuestas acabadas, por lo que, en el momento mismo en el cual a la pregunta capital ¿qué es el hombre? se le encuentre respuesta acabada y se convierta en ley, no solo queda una pregunta resuelta, sino una vida sin sentido.es-ES
