| dc.description | Entre las muchas problemáticas sociales, existe una que generalmente se conoce como raíz de múltiples dificultades, la pobreza; Es difícil encontrar una definición universalmente aceptada, sin embargo, El autor Peter Townsend y otros 79 académicos de lo más destacados en el tema mencionan lo siguiente “La pobreza es, ante todo, un concepto que depende los ingresos o los recursos. Es mucho más que tener un ingreso relativamente bajo. Si se pudieran desarrollar más criterios independientes del ingreso y se llegara a un acuerdo sobre ellos, entonces las estimaciones sobre la severidad y las dimensiones del fenómeno de la pobreza podrían fundamentarse correctamente “(Townsend et al., 1997). Esta falta de ingresos deriva en variedad de problemáticas en nuestra sociedad, que puede exacerbar conductas de descontento, lo que eleva índices de inseguridad, violencia y criminalidad, como ejemplo de esto, basta con ver las revueltas en países como Colombia, cuando se plantean reformas que afectan directamente, el precio de los alimentos, tal como ocurrió en el año 2021 y que generó muchas manifestaciones, debido al impacto negativo que generaría a la economía de muchas familias, que ya estaban afectadas por la pandemia que transcurría en este momento (International Crisis Group, 2021). A raíz de la relevancia que tiene esta problemática, se han implementado metodologías para cuantificar y calcular (aproximadamente) la afectación de esta problemática en la sociedad, para el caso de Colombia, el DANE usa los parámetros de pobreza monetaria y multidimensional (DANE, 2020), en los cuales permite comparar la información del mismo año tras año para el país, y que es fundamental para la realización y actualización de un geovisor que permita ver cómo se distribuye este índice en las principales capitales del territorio. | |

If more income-independent criteria could be developed and agreed upon, then estimates of the severity and dimensions of the poverty phenomenon could be well founded” (Townsend et al., 1997). This lack of income leads to a variety of problems in our society, which can exacerbate behaviors of discontent, which raises insecurity, violence and crime rates, as an example of this, just look at the riots in countries like Colombia, when reforms are proposed that directly affect the price of food, as happened in 2021 and that generated many demonstrations, due to the negative impact that it would generate on the economy of many families, who were already affected by the pandemic that was taking place at this time (International Crisis Group, 2021). Due to the relevance of this problem, methodologies have been implemented to quantify and calculate (approximately) the impact of this problem on society. In the case of Colombia, DANE uses the parameters of monetary and multidimensional poverty (DANE, 2020 ), in which it allows to compare the information of the same year after year for the country, and which is fundamental for the realization and updating of a geovisor that allows to see how this index is distributed in the main capitals of the territory. | |
